About the event

We are surrounded by plants that can help nourish our bodies, support our health and bring

calmness to our lives. So many of these plants are growing right outside our doors; they can be

grown in our gardens or purchased. Plants have an affinity to certain body systems; some offer ways to help us cope with everyday stress, and many can help with illness and emergencies.

Please join Anne Marie Martin in this interactive workshop that will open doors, connecting you with the spirit of the

plants around you. Participants will be given an opportunity to experience different kinds of common herbal

medicine.

In this workshop, we will discuss how plants can help us. We will discuss common plants that you can harvest or grow in your gardens and the ways in which you can prepare them to use for yourselves and your family. We will discuss at least six common herbs in detail.

You will go home with an  Echinacea tincture that you can use for cold and flu season. Ann Marie will lead you through a demonstration of how to make it.  All ingredients and supplies are provided to make approximately 5-6 oz of tincture plus a 2 oz amber dropper bottle.  Store-bought Echinacea Tincture sells for a minimum of $12 an oz.!!

Cost: $55 if purchased before February 04. $65 thereafter.

Workshop facilitated by: Ann Marie Martin

When: Saturday, February 18, 2023

Time: 12:30 - 3:30 pm

My name is Ann Marie Martin. I’m a retired Registered Nurse and a handmade soap maker. However, learning about plants, and herbal medicine making is what I love to do! I began studying Skincare Product Making in 2008. At that time, I fell in love with essential oils and became a Certified Aromatherapist while also being introduced to the plant world. I’ve been

studying herbalism ever since. I love growing herbs and foraging for wild plants, talking and singing to them, and, most of all, making all sorts of herbal medicine. My passion is also to share this information with whoever will listen! I want everyone to know that they are surrounded by plants that are edible, nourishing, and medicinal. They are here for us if we

take to time to know them.
