About the event
Let Love Be Our Guide
What is the spiritual meaning of Tara?
"Tara is a female deity in both Hinduism and Buddhism who personifies compassion and offers salvation from the suffering of rebirth and death. Â She is thought to have been born of empathy for the suffering world and is regularly invoked for protection, guidance, and deliverance from difficult situations." - World History Encyclopedia
The Jangchup Choeling Nuns will guide us in Meditation and a Tara Puja (Blessing). Prepare yourself for an afternoon of high LOVE vibration, introspection, conversation, and fun! What is a Puja? Puja is interchangeable with prayer and is offered as a ceremony to provide blessings and to clear worldly, inner, and secret obstacles that prevent us from achieving our goals and living our dharma/purpose. Â
The Nuns will have items from India to sell as they raise money to continue their mission to bring a greater state of peace, wisdom, and consciousness worldwide.
In the early 1980’s, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, with the vision of preserving Tibetan culture and heritage, recommended the building of a nunnery which would foster philosophical education and training for women. Jangchub Choeling Nunnery was founded in 1987 under the vision as an educational institution for women of all ages who wish to pursue the study of Buddhist scriptures of Nalanda tradition. We hope you will join us for this unique and blessed experience! If you are unable to attend live, please note there will be a donation box located at the cash register for the next few weeks and all funds will go to support the Jangchup Choeling Nuns & their Monastery.
